We launched our first UpSkill ME induction at Co-Op Logistics, working in partnership with USDAW.
UpSkill ME, in partnership with Stream and NA College, launched our first cohort today.
Working with The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers (USDAW), our first cohort is with Co-Op Retail Logistics in Birtley and learners will be studying Maths on our innovative online learning platform.
UpSkill ME is a strategic partnership between NA College and Stream On Demand to develop and deliver online Functional Skills courses. Over the last 3 years, Stream have worked with NA College to develop online Functional Skills material that engages learners and assists in the delivery of classroom sessions. UpSkill ME is a evolution of this product, moving into a more online learning approach. Development has been funded by the governments Flexible Learning Fund and includes curriculum for Level 1 and 2, with Entry Level courses currently in development.
The programmes have been contextualised to a number of different industry-sectors, these include Manufacturing, Warehousing & Logistics, Construction, Health & Social Care, Customer Services & Retail and Hospitality. This allows learners to complete learning that is better suited to the job role they are in; for example a Co-Op employee working in the Retail Logistics would study the Warehousing & Logistics orientated programme, whereas one working instore at a Co-Op would study the Customer Services & Retail orientated programme.
Unlike most online courses, a dedicated tutor is available throughout the course to help learners’ and to ensure timely completion of the course.
